For all you USAF guys I was at Ellsworth AFB last Saturday for a very formal dining out with CAP(Civil Air Patrol) here is a pic with me and my dad out in the Dakota club lobby in front of a B1B model with a picture. I did good, I didn't have to go to the grog bowl, the contents were Tabasco sauce, liquid smoke, coffee, coke, salt, monster energy drink, and some I can't remember.

Glad you 2 enjoyed yourselves.

Here is an old joke for you

What do you call a B-1, a B-2, and B-52?

A strategic bomber and 2 bingo numbers :)

I know, bad joke. Last duty station was Barksdale AFB.

Couple of years ago a B17 (nose name Aluminum Overcast) was on tour and stopped at our local airport. We happened to be eating at the airport restaurant when I spotted it out on the runway. They had been there all day giving rides!

Unfortunately, they were finished for the day, and were leaving the next morning, so I had to settle for the opportunity to crawl around inside and look it over. I did buy the tee shirt, though. We went out early the next morning, and I stood out on the edge of the runway and watched the Flying Fortress take off. Went by about 50 feet away. What a thrill.

I was in the army, but my dad was an Army Air Corps mechanic in WWII, and he left me with a deep and lasting love for the old warplanes. (I, too, was CAP in high school.)

Two shots in the AF - two AFSC's, wish I had stayed. Got close enough to this one to actually touch it. Wish I could have crawled through it.
