I've been using the MM pads for a couple years now and recently ran into a lot of problems with them. They've bled, and gummed up on the last few projects I have done: both AA and woods.
I have never had the consistent trouble with them before.

Are they meant to be used for wet sanding? I feel there's something I'm not thinking of...

I only use mine for wet sanding.

you can wash them - just put them in a shirt pocket that has a button and run them in the clothes washer.

don't forget to take them out, I don't think they'd do well in the dryer.

I use them to wet sand acrylic and dry sand wood/CA. Have not had a consistent problem with them gumming up. Happens occasionally if my speed is too high or I apply too much pressure especially on more detailed turnings.

I store them wet in a container as well. If you add a drop of dish soap in the water is makes it even more slick when sanding. If you look for the 3" x 4" pads you can cut them into 4 pieces and they last 4 times as long. :)

Woodcraft has the larger pieces but I found a better deal at Exotic Blanks since they started carrying them and I don't need to get dressed or leave my computer. LOL. The joys of working from home. :)
