Wanted Metal Lathe

Good Day
I am looking for a used (but not crappy) metal lathe.
- something between 7x16 and 9x20 or even 10x22 with
- around 1,000 watts power (1.34 HP),
- can be in inches or metric (would prefer metric, but will take inches).
- Good rigidity and weight (250 to 400 lb)
- basic tools in good shape would also be welcome
- something made in the US/Canada, such as Precision Matthews, south bend, little machine shop (even a "good" Chinese lathe!)

preferably not too far from my area (200 miles from Derwood, zip 20855, Montgomery County Maryland)

Keep an eye on Craigslist, and ebay. Watch the local paper for tool (estate) sales.

The 1000 watts power would be WAY overkill for a 7x16

The 9x20 normally comes with imperial lead screw, but can do metric threading too. The compound mount on these is too flexible, but can be made stiffer with a new compound mount.

Also, check out FB Marketplace. I found a very nice used Southbend 10K with lots of extra tooling for a great price.
