Hi all:-) I know I've asked this before but here goes[:I]
I'll use a Baron for example. How do you get the grains to match
up when you screw the cap and bottom barrel together. I have been
assembling the cap and then screwing the bottom coupler in. After
that, pushing the bottom barrel onto the coupler so it all lines up.
What I don't understand is, after it's all finished how do you get
it to line up after you've used it. Seems to me there is an almost
infinite number of places to start screwing the cap on so the grain
never lines up.........very much hit and miss...........I think I've
totally missed the boat on this one....LOL

Thanks

It takes about one full turn to screw on the cap so if you start with the cap unscrewed and the grain aligned you should end up with it aligned when closed.

the number is less then infinite. I belive but do not quote me there are 4 start point with the way the cap is threaded. You would have to start at the same point every time to line up. You should be able to "feel" the start point by rotating your pen counter clockwise.

You have a one-in-four chance of getting it right the first time. There are four entry points on the Baron.

If you spin it to the next one, and so on, you will eventually get it lined up again.

Yup, definitely less than infinite. 1 in 4. However, if we were talking about matching the grains up on the sand pen, that's a different matter all together.

I usually screew the cap part on before a put the cap together. I then line up the grain and push the cap on just a little. Then I unscrew and finish the cap.

What I do is to screw the pieces together, then hand-press them into both barrels simultaneously. That basically positions everything, then I just press them together.
