This is my first pen (with a lot of help) thanks to Jan for the blank hope to start turning soon. Still need to get some tools (pen press) cause the clamps i used are not going to cut it . Thanks to all the info i have learn on the site. C/C welcome but remember i am a newbie, but i do have thick skin lol

Excellent work, even if it was your 10th pen! Yes, get a good pen press, it makes assembly so much easier and precise.

There are a lot of other ways to press a pen together besides a pen press.

I use my lathe / tail stock, or bench vise with wood pieces to protect the kit. Can also use the drill press.. Many ways to accomplish it using equipment you likely already have.

I agree--the pen look great! Also, I second using your lathe as a pen press. There is a great .pdf out there (I'd be happy to email you a copy) with detailed instructions--it is basically free if you don't count your lathe time.
