ENBU, in Japanese "Dancing in the Flames"
As a tribute to Gyoshū Hayami, the pseudonym of a Japanese painter in the Nihonga style, active during the Taishō and Shōwa eras,
I was inspired by his most famous work, Dancing in the Flames (炎舞, Enbu) dates from 1925
With a rough brush, flames are brushed on the ground and saturated with gold powder.
then ground and polished and covered by several layers of transparent "Sukurome" Urushi.
