Note to self: If planing 3/4" boards down to 3/8", and you are planing 8 bf. of pine and 6 bf. of cherry, you must empty your Rigid vac twice... LOTS of sawdust :tongue:

Of course you will have to empty the pail twice but it's easier than the shop vac and the shop vac filter stays clean. Had one for about a year now and don't know how I worked without it.

Ouch! Should cut off 1/4" using a bandsaw first! Nice cherry veneers of some kind before chipping up all that material!

I also have a rigid vac that I use sometimes on my Ridgid planer and when it fills up it reminds me that I need to get my 32 gallon collector in the middle of it. It takes up too much room but is well worth it.

Sounds like a bandsaw didn't get used where needed.

The boards wouldn't fit in my band saw. I have an old (30+ years) Craftsman. I have a cyclone that I am working on. Got the unit working, now I've got to get the filters installed and do the duct work. Like Rick said, at least I wouldn't have to clean the filter.
