Is is possible to make a digital converter box? No one locally carries them, and I'd like to drop my digital cable service.

I'm wondering if there's anything I can cobble together to work to get a digital antenna signal to my CRT television.

And yes, I'm happy with my CRT - I don't like LED tvs (They hurt my eyes)

For a while you could get them free or greatly reduced when they dropped analog service. I actually purchased a Samsung and used it for a short time before getting HD on our DirecTV service. Did the job nicely.

As for building one, not sure.

I think they're all pretty standard I think. Just make sure you get something that has the outputs you need to connect to your old tube TV.

We have some REALLY old TVs up at the mountain house that only have the old screw style antenna inputs so I can't even use a converter on those. :frown:

One place I know of still sells them new, solidsignal.com. I have ordered satellite parts from them before. They shipped parts quick.

I have an extra one but it's at my farm & would be a few weeks before I could get it.
