This looks like a good starter package. I covers most of what is needed in a direct fashion.
It has a built in export feature to send to a laser etching machine as well.
I have been running Solid Works and AutoCad for many years. Even though this is no match for them, it does look good for home use.
The price is right too. I did not see if it had an expiration on it to force and upgrade or not is all. If not, it will be hard to beat for home shop work from what I can see.

Yes it is just the software.. You have to put your creativity to work in it. It also has 3D in it to view tapers and the like as you design things.

If you really want to make your own parts, it sounds like a good reason to have to buy a metal lathe.
For what they charge, two sets of bushings would pay for a 7 x from harbor freight.

After I ate, I re-read your post. For bushings, I don't think I would go that route unless you plan on ordering 50 of each bushing. Maybe 25 each. Nothing ventured, nothing gained type of thing.
You can send a print and get a price for different quantities. Send a print with the request for quote and the material you want them made out of such as UHMW or Delrin or steel and what kind of steel. You will need to give them concentricity specs and finish roughness specs and tolerances on the I.D. and O.D. as well for them to quote properly and get what you are looking for. Broken edges, chamfers etc need to be called out as well.
If this is the site I am thinking of, and someone correct me if I am wrong, they will send your RFQ out to shops that are members of Emachine for quoting price and delivery.

Fun read. For me, I'll wait until I can print bushings with a 3d printer :biggrin:
