Thanks for all the comments!
It appears most of us are not sure aboout the kit.
Here is a mini-review, if you will entertain me for a moment.
I am undecided if I like it enough to ever order more.It just hasn't "hit" me yet as love at first sight.
The embellishments are a lot to place on a smaller pen, there is almost not
enough room for all the glitz. 10 gallons in a 5 gallon pail syndrome, maybe?
My thoughts after making this one, are that it is a pretty decent looking kit.
The plating is pretty good, but not quite as polished as plating on an emperor, or such.
It went together fine, but transmission appeared really lightweight (IMHO), and twisting is not very smooth.Maybe it will break in.
The refill it came with was a no-name, not sure about that. A Schmidt would have been nice for the kit price.
Also, the refill came with a loose spring, ala parker refill, that was to be put on the nose of refill.
Wonder how many customers throw that spring away, it being stuffed on the refill instead of tail end?
Overall, it looked great in the bag in kit form. As I laid it out to assemble,
it kind of hit me that it is just not worth 20.20 (2+ price) of
my money.
There are other kits available for the same basic money that I will buy
first if I'm buying for myself to make.Customer requests are a different story.
Overall quality and looks are good, but it would be a lot nicer in my mind, at a price point of around 12-14 dollars.
Wife wants it already, but I have told her it's a bad habit, and she should try to quit.
