Majestic Jr. from Gym Floor.

This is a Majestic Jr. from a local college gym floor. This is a commissioned pen, also doing an Apollo Elite from the same wood.

I dont really like this wood wiht this pen; but thats what they wanted.
The finish is BLO+CA.

The other pen is my first with corian.

Yup, that kit is way too rich for that wood. But it still turned out nice.

I think it is nice looking. The wood has a great grain pattern.

I like the grain pattern on the wood but for my own taste I would not have put so much curve in the cap.

I would have picked a different kit for the gym wood, but you did a great job on it. I'm sure the customer will be pleased. Nice corian pen, but I'm one of those nuts that loves corian. You will see that many customers do also.

Interesting grain for gym floor. I have done many gym floor pens from a local HS, all about 3/4" maple. Used the chrome American flat top style pen. Some looked good, some just ok as far as the wood goes, but hey, if it's what the customer wants......

The gym floor appears to be southen yellow pine, the wood was cut and fabricated cross grain. The actual floor was about 2-1/2" thick. Cross grain yielded the stripe pattern.

The grain pattern is beautiful.
The third picture really shows it off great.
