I decided to make a levitating pen display for the last Bash. Here's a few pictures from the process
I started off with a rather large lump of aluminium to machine the base from. Detailing grooves were cut into the piece with a parting tool, and it was hollowed out to accomodate the circuit board to control the maglev
With the circuit installed, I passed the wires out through the side to be run through the head support arm
From here, lots of testing and tweaking ensued.
The more weight, the smaller the gap will be. with just two rare earth magnets quite a nice gap can be achieved!
and finally, the end result.
Thanks for looking!
