We are getting ready to take a long car trip from Arizona to Oregon with the family, including my 2 granddaughters. We wanted something for them to make it easier for them to color or play games while we travel so I made these today. They will attach to the carseat with the strap and will be secure enough that they can color, play games, or eat while we travel.

These we made from 1/2" Oak playwood and measure 20" x 16". I saw some of these on the web going for $50.00 and up, made both of these for under $20 total.

I have not put a finish on these yet as the grandkids are going to "decorate" them and then i will put a finish on them.

They look like they will enjoy them, but do you think these trays could possibly become a safety hazard if there ever was an accident? Just a thought...

Nice job on making something to help the kids keep occupied during a long drive with something other than an electronic babysitter.
