Did you notice while turning them that the sparkles seem to stand still?

Didn't see anything while turning, even had to stop the lathe to see if it was still in there. In fact, I was a little worried it wasn't going to turn out because the glitter was all white colored instead of the rainbow.
When I started to finish it though, the colors started getting bright.

If the sparkles were standing still you had to have a strobe effect going. Fluorescent bulbs and RPM a multiple of 60Hz?
