Earlier this week I went to a faculty meeting and made certain one of my better Barons got laid out on the conference table right out in front of me. One person asked about it, then another, and then .... they asked me if I had any for sale. I told them I would bring in a diplay of pens later in the week. Yesterday I sold $300 worth and took orders for another $100. Up until now I've been giving my pens as gifts. That was the first time I've sold any.
I reckon I lost my penturning virginity, so to speak.

Congrat Al!!! I'm proud of you. I'll bet those pens create even more sales when they get shown to their friends. Most of my sales are word of mouth from satisfied customers. I'm so happy for you![:)]

Not to nit pick, but I would guess you lost your "Penturning virginity" when you made your first pen.[^]
Your experience would serve as a better example of having your first"child"
You cannot have the latter without the former.
Congratulations on the sales and a great story.

Now I suppose you will be passing out cigars?[:D]

Like they say "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free."

It's a nice feeling to know people are willing to pay to own what you create.

Careful, Eagle. He has gone from doing it for free to charging for it. The proper terms of description get a bit dicey at this time. [;)][}:)][;)]

Effective, although sneaky, sales tatic. I have done the same with a few different items. "Accidently" left one of my mid-range kaleidoscopes on the principal's secretary's desk. Let it sit there most of the day and sold maybe 15 of them that day, and let her keep that one. Have sold dozens at school since then.

In response to Eagle. I related it to having childern and sending them to a college that pays you instead of you paying them. You bare them, raise them, and pray they go to make a good life for themselves. Just a thought[:)]
