I'm here. Thanks for asking. Surgery went alright I guess. I was asleep the whole time so could not keep an eye on the doc. There was no leg pain after but is has crept back a little each day which worries me.

I am going stir crazy not being able to work, or drive. PT person said no exercises for at least 6 weeks but said I need to "walk around". I don't know what that means so aside from wondering around the house I go for a short walk each evening to the end of the block, but that might stop because of pain. Maybe I was not ready for that either.

I get to go back to work this Monday but very limited, and if it hurts too much doc said stay out another week. There is just nothing on TV these days and I am running out of books to read.

In a nut shell I am sore but able to stand up straight for the first time in over a month, I am not dragging my right leg, and the feeling in my big toe is coming back. Hopefully I will be turning soon.

Here is a hint- do not search youtube for videos of your surgery BEFORE the surgery. I did and my anxiety level went way up.

Mark, Glad your doing well, I imagine the pain in your leg will go away as the nerves heal, I just got an order from my DR that I need a new hip, more than the back, but I have to go see the Cardiologist first, BUT I still keep up on burning the nerve ends on my spine.
I'm waiting to see the Orthopedic guy first then the Cardio dude (I don't like his tricks) but if he says OK I'll be able to walk, and hold off until I can check out the Spinal Laser clinic in Oklahoma City.
Amazing that they let you back to work so soon, but sure glad you didn't wake up and tell the DR. what you thought ought to be done <LOL>

As a teacher I have the freedom to move, sit, walk, stand at my will and as I see fit. Doc not happy about me going back and said if Monday sucks I am out another week, but understands the importance of Monday, the first day of school.
