Wow, I didn't even notice them in the catalog ... those are cool but yeah, a bit pricey. I'd like to know if there are more reasonable ones also.

You can get just the mechanism from them ($10) or from woodnwhimsies ($11) and put most any flash drive in it.

I would get it from WnW due to their better customer service.

I have bought a number of sandisk and HP drives from amazon, stripped the cases off them, and put them into the PSI mechanisms.

Another option is to make your own cases. I am making one from M3 right now with sandisk hardware in it. It saves the price of the mechanism and looks (in my opinion) much classier.

I hae gotten a couple of complaints on the PSI drives that the housing blocks adjacent ports all the way around. Also, they will not fit into some computers, particularly HP desktops, because the male side of the port does not stick quite far enough out of the housing to make good contact.

Also, Berea hardwoods has another design that the port pivots in and out of the housing. I have not used them, but my recollection is that they are on the expensive side too.

They look really nice though I have to agree that they are leaning toward the pricey spectrum. Not a lot would actually fancy this considering that it will have to go through everyday wear and tear.

I reckon that people would get it just to be for display, which sort of defeats the purpose.

Bring down the price, but not let the quality down.
