Hi Guys and Gals Iam looking for a bandsaw and would like to know what you thaink is the saw for $400.00 or less. Have been looking at Grizzy and HF bvut if there is soming elese out there let me no what .

The are quite a few people on here with the Grizzly 0555 who are very happy with it. I have one as well but it is the only bandsaw I have ever used so I can't compare it to anything.
 
It's actually pretty easy to stay under $400 (although your going to get a lot of responses encouraging you to spend more) as long as your patient. The Ridgid bandsaw is a good machine for about $350 ish although it doesnt have a fence it would be a new machine. I would stay away from Harbor Freight altogether. The best bet is to watch craigslist or the local classifieds and snatch up a good used one. Grizzly is good if they have something under $400. Good luck.
 
Although you can get a good bandsaw for under $400, I'd say look at the classifieds and Craigslist. I came across a steal last year after only looking at craigslist for a couple weeks. I Picked up a 14" Jet complete with mobile base, fence, extra blades and upgrades for only $200. After a little cleanup, looks and runs like new.
 
I have a Rikon 14" bandsaw. They make two models. It is model 10-320. It is a very nice saw, lots of power, runs nicely. No problems and I have had it for over a year.
