Exotic Blanks just did a whole web session on their YouTube page on this over the weekend. Not sure if you're posting this in response to that or not.

If not, I'd go watch it and get Dean's thoughts on lasers and various capabilities prior to buying.

i own two of the same. I was going to sell one. it was the one sold by the lady named Nancy a few years ago. i will provide more details . i don't think i ever used the second and the first was barely used. i will post "for sale" when I am sure it works.

I've been tinkering with the idea of a laser for doing some embellishments on my pens - but I'd like it to be able to engrave metal. What I am reading is that I need a fiber laser to do that - and I watched the Exotic Blanks live demo and it seemed to confirm that thought. My problem is mention fiber plus laser in a sentence and the cost seems to rocket to thousands of dollars. Anyone having success engraving designs and text in nickel silver or similar metal with a sub $1K cost laser? Looking to do nibs, clips, and top finials on the pen.

I got a very nice used Ortur LM2 S2 Pro 10w laser off facebook about a month ago. To engrave metal, they say at least a 10w laser is needed. Mine is a diode laser. I have a little 3.5w laser but it's pretty limited. I wanted something to engrave on knife blades. Here's a test I did on stainless the other day.

I did forget to add. It really isn't engraving on steel. You use a laser spray and it actually burns the image on.
