I am thinking about getting a new (or used) lathe, I need it to VS anyone know of any good deals? my old mini has gone south and it don't work anymore. I am looking for 12in swing/15-20 between centers.
anyone got any ideas

I just picked up a used Nova Comet II. I have only turned a few pens on it but I love it. Stong and smooth. I love the variable speed. It has indexing system and cost less than most lathes in that size range, they are 499 with free shipping from amazon. It should definitely be one you should consider.

Even cheaper at woodturningz I believe.

I looked at it as well. Seems pretty nice.

Ultimately went with the Jet.
 
Just got my Woodcraft flyer. Jet is havng a big sale. I believe it is Jet having the sale so not Woodcraft specific. I have the 1220 and 1642 Lathes and lake them both.

I would look at the comet 2 from woodturningz or the jet mini vs.

You might be able to retrofit your current lathe for vs Do you have a mini?
