Wow, great job...I can't even imagine how you did that!

The centerband slips apart pretty easy - the trick is turning the small ring on a predrilled blank. And then you can just knock the end cap bling out and turn a suitable replacement, then a dab of thick CA. And lotsa caliper checking!
 
Thanks all - I wanted to try an acrylic for my first attempt. Need to order more kits, and would like to try an HRB on the next one. Maybe a hair wider center band, but not as proud.
 
This looks pretty sweet, I tried doing this about a month or so ago with a Majestic and it's difficult to get these bands to match up. With that being said, I think you did a great job!

Take it easy and keep pushing the limits of these kits
 
Thanks Tim - your work was an inspiration to get me to try it. Not sure I'm ready to try a Majestic kit yet - on too limited a budget to risk trashing one of those bad boys!
