In making 30-06 pens it would be nice to have some longer transmissions. Anybody know where to find them, or have a trick to getting some extra length in that area? Is there a particular brand that is any longer?

If I understand you correctly, then why can't you just use longer tubes? I use the packs of 10 ( or 12 ) inch ones from PSI and just cut as required. I wish there was more sizes available though.

7 mm trannys are pretty much standard length.
I've made some 06' and 308s and used longer tubes due to cartridge length.

Is this the problem, tube too short and tranny is deeper inside shell?

I would like for the tranny to extend farther into the upper part of the pen. The ones I have made look and work fine, but the top is held only by a 1/2 inch or so of the trans. Just had a thought! If the refill was longer then the tranny would not need to pressed into the shell as far. Anyone have longer refills? A shorter nib would do the same thing. The ones I made with real bullets for nibs are fine.

My tranny is pressed normally and has full length into top section.

I merely used a longer tube, to go from nib to drilled out primer cup.

My tube came from an old kit from CS that had one longer than standard and a standard length tube.

Now now that Woodturningz has 10 inch lengths for sale...
