where can I find a jet live center? From what I have seen it is very good quality but I can't find out where to buy it. I have seen the oneway center but I wanted to see how the jet center compared to it.

You can probably get one delivered with a Powermatic 3520b as an accessory.

OneWay reportedly had a discussion with Jet/Powermatic a few years back......

OK, you send me the money for a PM3520B. :)

I probably will just keep an eye out for used centers or sales.

If you can live without the "system" aspect, John Goodin (Penturners Products) - AKA Johnny CNC - sells one that blew me away with its quality and accuracy. Truly an exceptional accessory. Russ

Levi -- The 3/4 by 10 threads on the one way are very handy and with a low cost tap from the auto supply store, it is easy to make jigs for it.

The cost is high -- but it is almost bullet proof.

There are some lower cost alternatives. Nova has a nice live center but uses a short MT2 as the interchangeable center. The included tapers allow many small jigs, and they sell a threaded insert to hold a chuck - or what ever else you want to thread onto it.

Little Machine shop sells a 3-jaw Jacobs style drill chuck on a live center bearing set that is very adaptable.

Amazon sells a PSI live center with 1 by 8 threads that is also adaptable for under $27

I have both Oneway and Nova, and use the nova more than the oneway.

P.S. Went to college in Rapid City a long time ago --
