To those of you who ordered the newest addition to our lineup, the Le Roi Elegant Major in Black Titanium/Rhodium...I have these kits in hand and will be mailing them out Saturday Oct 5th and Monday Oct 7th.

I will email you the instructions sometime before you actually receive the kits. Please watch for them because, while they are finial operated, there are a couple of little assembly things that are different from the other Le Roi Elegant.

Regarding Bushings - if you have Sierra bushings where both bushings are the same diameter and about 12mm they will work. Some Sierra sets have one bushing 12mm and one 12.5mm and they won't work.

Tube size is 56mm and is the same as typical tubes for Le Roi, Sierra, Gatsby

10.5mm Drill bit should work fine, but if you want to paint the inside of the tubes I'd use 27/64th.

ALL WILL SHIP ON SAT OCT 5, 2013 INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE EMAILED SUNDAY AND MONDAY.

Got 'em!

Got 'em earlier in the week and they're pretty nice. The only thing is that the kit comes across to me as very "cold" because of all the chrome. The gold doesn't quite offset it, so wood choice will be very important. Here's one with a piece of nice Maple Burl (from IAP's own ElMostro).

It's a Shellawax finish over their Triple-E and some sanding sealer. (Forgive the cell phone photo, please.)

It's a nice small to medium sized pen. I've got to break down and get a set of bushings though. I use a set of Gatsby bushings on this to start, but I think it's bigger than they were so I finished with calipers and sandpaper...

Thanks Smitty!

NICE PEN GERRY, THANK YOU FOR THE COMMENTS. I THINK ONE BUSHING IS THE SAME AS SIERRA AND THE OTHER ISN'T - I DON'T REMEMBER WHICH IS WHICH THOUGH SO IF YOU USE BUSHINGS I RECOMMEND GETTING MAJORs

Third finish

What is the reaction to the possibility of a third finish Gold TN (tip bands etc.) & Black Ti. PreProd Price would not be far from the other two. BTW the tube for this kit is standard Sierra size and it will take the "special" blanks made by Marla, Toni, John Utech et al. To give you really great pens.

I"d probably be in for a few. (I'm not sure how many "a few" is right now.) I like the concept.

Thanks,
J

If this happens it will probably be after the first of the year...pushing a little close to Thanksgiving and Christmas to try it before then.
