A good friend called my wife the other day and told her she has something I needed to take a look at. She was taking care of an estate sale and had found this stashed in the basement. Near as I can tell it was made in 1948. Still needs some love and elbow grease...Rockwell Homecraft Mdl 46-230. There was also just a ton of wood as well. Some of it was still in the original packaging. The address labels on much of it predated ZIP codes!

Nice rescue, clean it up and hit it with Boeshield 9 CSUSA is carrying it, Great stuff for corrosion resistance.

Check out Old Woodworking Machinery (owwm.com and owwm.org). They can help you date that unit based on the serial number. They helped me date my 1936ish Delta Drill press (http://www.owwm.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=104955).

They may also have some info and help on restoration.
