I'm in Florida at my "winter" shop where I have a Chinese knock-off mini-lathe I bought 10 years ago from now-defunct TWC at a WW show. The drive belts (there are two) have both died, and I have no idea where to find replacements. Based on the shredded remains, the belts seem to be 14" long, 3/16 wide and deep. The belt is "cogged" although I think that a simple V belt would be fine.
Any ideas?

Pete,
Sounds like the same predicament I had a few months back. Small 1/3hp with 2 cogged belts.
Get ahold of Belt Store (337-235-9736), think they are in LA but they will go out of their way to get em fer ya.

Pete,
I had the same problem. I picked up a replacement belt for my Fisch at Napa until the one specifically for the lathe came in the mail via the web. I saw 14" v drive belts at Tractor Supply in Fort Myers/Naples. Try them as well.

I had the same problem with my Shop smith 10ER (made in the 50's). I ended up buying a VIBRATION FREE LINK BELT that is made up of many flexable interconnecting pieces so you can adjust the size. HF sells it for $25 for five feet. It kind of looks like a flatened red bicycle chain.

Napa Has It

Napa has your belt. I work for Napa and they have just about any belt you will ever need. Gary is right, you want the green belt which is a small engine/industrial engine belt. It will last forever unless you have a burr on your pulleys. Just take your belt on down to the closest Napa store and have one of the more experienced parts people measure it. If they don't have it in stock, they can get it relatively quickly.
