largest bushing size

I am going to get a length of round stock to make some bushings to turn without a mandrel.
Since I have only made slimlines so far, what is the largest bushing O.D. that I might ever want to make?
I don't want to have to buy a larger size of round stock down the road if I want to turn cigar pens or such.

You can't post to the IAP Library. You have to send the information to Jeff and he will check it into the library.

I would personaly get a rod of 1", a rod of 3/4", and one rod of 1/2"

That said, most any steel supplier will cut chunks for you, just buy a foot of the 1" and the 1/2" and maybe two feet of the 3/4"

Don't forget you will need to "true" the rod in your lathe, this can take more or less depending on what you are using and how good the rod is.

You don't want to turn some .331 slimline bushings from 1.000 stock (Trust me.. it takes a while!)
