I have a customer asking me to try to hunt down a magnifying glass kit. I showed him the ones on the usual suppliers sites (Woodcraft, CSUSA, PSI, etc.). He said they were too small and showed me one he uses all the time that sits on his desk. It's about 4" OD. Anybody have any ideas on where to get a kit that size?

PSI used to carry a 4" kit, but the discontinued it about a year ago. So there are probably some out there some where.

I watch the clearance bins at our local TJ Maxx. If I find a maginifer with a threaded handle, I buy it and make a new handle. Here is one I did some time back. The handle had a 1/4" thread rod running through it with a threaded end piece. I cut a 7MM tube to length and turned the handle.

that turned out good. Only problem, my customer would like 25 of them right off the bat, and there's no telling when a place like that will have that many.
