Hi all,
I finally got brave enough to take the risk with some Koa. Here is a PSI Classic kit. Unfortunately the picture was taken with my old Cybershot and doesn't do it justice. This shape is the new shape that I have been doing with my classics that tends to balance the pen much better since the regular shape of the classic leaves it a litte top-heavy.

That came out great Alan! Nice job!

Michael, I agree with Tom. At some point, you just gotta bite the bullet. Just remember to take it slow with any new wood, and to use sharp tools, and you <u>should</u> be OK.

Very nice, Alan. I too like koa as a pen material. Some of the nicest pens that I've made have been in koa...it is a beautiful wood.
