For Christmas my Mom asked my kids to make some pens for my cousin's kids (they are all about the same ages). From top to bottom: Josh, my 8 year old, made an executive from lacewood; in the middle is another executive from Cole (age 11) made with tulipwood; on the bottom is one of Rebecca's (age 13) poly clay creations. I did help put the finish on these.

And, in the department of "How does a pen make one feel inadequate?". Last night I turned this sierra with a blank from Jonathan Brooks (Brooks803). I had ordered some special color blanks from him a year or two ago and he threw in this little piece. As far as feeling inadequate - let me just say that this picture is a pathetic representation of what this blank actually looks like. There is some fantastic depth and color and sparkle in this thing. I think I need to start saving for a new camera. (Or at least I am convincing myself that it is the camera and not the photographer that is the problem with the picture!)

Have a great day,
Dave
