I'd like to try a new project with a novel material for pens and things like them. Does anyone have experience with crowdfunding that would be willing to help me figure out where to start?

i follow a guy on youtube and instagram that done a few kickstarters and he does great it looks like.
makes titanium pens and other things from titanium.

Stay in contact with your backers post videos on how you do it. Once you get a name in it you probably can make some good profits.

Thanks for the suggestions! For this first attempt, I'm going more as a marketing exercise. I want to walk before I run, so I can make the mistakes with a proven product. After I learn the ropes a bit, I have LOTS and LOTS of ideas to try.

Finding buyers before production of interesting products is a dream come true!

Anyone have experience with Kickstarter or Indiegogo? I think those are the two best known, and GoFundMe seems to have a much different audience.

Isn't gofundme used more for people that have house fires and such? Trying to remember a site used by our son's best friends wife when her husband was killed in a bicycle accident. It was a tragedy, but thought it was gofundme. Sorry, no experience Chris.
