Hey All,
OK I've recently decided to try turning some larger items like boxes & bowls. When turning pens, I found it easy to control my mess but turning larger pieces is a different story. After a turning session, I have wood in my pockets, shoes... it's everywhere. Specifically my shoes & shoe laces are full of wood dust & shavings.

I guess it's time to invest in shoes specific to playing in the wood chips or maybe some shoe covers . Ever since I bought my first lathe, my wallet has developed a slow leak.

Dave slip on boots is about the only way of keeping shavings out of shoes. Also a turning smock is a good investment.
I don't get reamed any more for fouling up the bosses laundry or getting shavings in certain un-mentionables. (that really ticked her off)

Slow leak, HELL! More like a big green gush! The lathe was the cheap part!

And if you buy SWMBO a thong, there isn't room for shavings to get trapped.:)
