Jr. Statesman

Does anyone have the cap threaded section for a Jr. Statesman in Rhodium and gold or can tell me where to buy one. Thru stupidity on my part I ruined the threads on the cap threads and can not find any part to fix it.
Some times my brain takes breaks without warning!

exotics carries those insert. It is the black plastic tube and yes this is a common issue so dont beat yourself up to bad over it. I myself have ruined several and anymore that is the LAST thing that I put in.

How do they get ruined? What should I be watching out for when assembling?

I have had a prospective customer strip out the threads right in front of me just by over-tightening the cap. (Gorilla grip...strong hands, weak brain). The only time I had problems in the shop was disassembling. Usually the insert is 'toast" if it has to be disassembled from the cap.

Had the same "gorilla" try to open a Neavou Scepter by pulling on the cap like it was a Bic. The cheap plastic threaded insert didn't stand a chance! Also agree that if you have to diassemble, better have a replacement available. (I think that is why Ed sells them - probably a lot!)
There has to be a better way to build that part.

That gorilla gets around. He has also been seen at shows in NH.

My error

I stupidly had the nib screwed into the cap section to get the blank aligned properly and went ahead and pressed the cap section together without removing the nib ad ruined the threads. I am amazed at myself from time to time!
