Jr. Gent Modification

Ok I just got a Jr. Gent and want to take out the gold piece out of the cap, how would I go about this with out messing it up?

Drill a hole in a block of wood that is smaller than the cap but larger than the insert. Place it on the wood over the hole and use a punch to tap it out. I think there is a tutorial for this in the library.
