I bought a few Jr Gent 1 pen kits from Timberbits lately.Has anyone got any problems with the kit.The bushings(also from Timberbits) for the top seems to be too small and the bottom tube seems to be too long in lenght.The refill will not go to the top of the nib.Anyone bought these lately.

just made 3 from them w/no problem ...which way did you put the spring in, small or big end to refill.... just using a old tape here at work looks like the top tube is 1 3/4 the lower tube 2 1/16 that from a pen i have with me

Hi Pat

As I have responded in the email you sent me yesterday.

The barrel is not too long. You need to put the spring behind the refill to push the refill out of the nib. If you put the spring on the nib side of the refill, it will push the refill back into the pen, hence why the refill is not sticking out of the barrel.

Regarding the bushings. It looks like you have some glue and contamination on the inside of the barrel. You need to clean out the inside of the barrel otherwise the bushing will not fit into the large tube.
