Finished my second closed end pen this weekend. Maple burl cast in epoxy colored with bronze mica powder to fill voids. I'm happy with the results but it took a ton of ca to stabilize the punky sections of the blank and believe I am having an allergic reaction as a result. (Puffy eyes and developed a rash). I'm a bit apprehensive about starting another pen at the moment. I used stick fast thin ca for the stabilization, but finished the pen with mercury flex thin and medium. Sanded the finish to 3000 and polished on the lathe with Meguiar's plastx.
