My daughter-in-law has been looking for a part time job. Since she is basically a single mom half the time when my son ships out with the CG, we know it's difficult to find something that will fit her schedule with a 4yo in preschool.
She called all excited Saturday that she was hired by a national chain that sells women's bath products in local shopping malls. She had worked for the chain before in another city and had to leave when they got transferred. She went for "training" Sunday and was told her hours would be 10-2 and that she would need to wear dark slacks, a dark collared shirt and non-lace up shoes. Now they are telling her it's a "call in" job. She is to call in at 9:15 every morning and see if they need her and if so she is to be there at 10.
What kind of crap is this. No wonder business can't find good employees any more if they are treated this way.

The worse the economy is the more employers feel they can push their employees. Then when people find something better they whine that the employees have no loyalty! Hope your daughter in law finds something better soon.

Monty. I have allot of respect for her. At least SHE IS WILLING TO WORK. Corporate America sucks. It cannot be trusted. It is a real shame. She needs to become self employed doing what she likes best, when she wants to do it. Wish I could help.
