Greetings
I'm starting to make clips and when I drew up clip for my latest pen I thought a jig would help keep things symmetrical.
The jig consists of a piece of rigid foam with a channel milled in it to hold 1/4" wide brass stock. clamping the stock in the channel allows you to bend the tang and then drill it. I milled a radius in it to form the rounded clip portion. I formed the clip part by hitting a transfer punch into the brass. One edge is cut on an angle the make the tapered portion of the clip. It holds it securely while I take the material off with a PSA sanding disc mounted on a face plate.
It worked pretty well. Next jig will be from a denser plastic.
Thanks for looking.
