Just Got my new Jet mini VS lathe, but don't have any of the accessories yet. What chuck would be best. I was looking at the PSi Barracuda, but not sure if that would be a good one or too much. I have ordered a Bealle Collet for the basic penturning, plus I have the Professional Mandrel off my old lathe, along with the standard PSI mandrels. I do want to start truning other things besides pens, so please guide me.

IMHO, the Barracuda chuck is an excellent match for the Jet 1014VS. I've had mine for a few months, and couldn't be happier. Before buying, check the price on Amazon.com--quite often, they run a pretty good sale on the chuck, and sometimes free shipping and/or a monthly discount offer as well. Also, Woodturningz will have a better price than PSI.

I agree, I have the Barracuda 2 and just love it. I want another bare chuck, so I don't have to change pieces all the time.
