Jet Lathe

Does anyone have a Jet 1221VS Lathe? I looked at one at my local Woodcraft store and I looks like a great lathe. Just wondering if its worth the $799.

Yes, it is worth it. Especially if you want to turn a variety of items.

If all you want to turn is pens and funds are tight, there are some lesser priced good options as well from jet and other companies.

I had a Delta. It was a good lathe, but the Jet 1221 blows it away. It is smoother and more powerful. I really didn't believe there was a difference until I tried it.

Where did you find it for $730? Jet forbids sales on that lathe.

Oh, you mean the delta?

No I have the JET it was from Amazon. The total was $736.95 or something close.

I agree, great lathe. I have had mine for a few weeks now and have not found anything that I don't like. Very quiet and smooth.
