Jet Lathe - Needs Work - You Think?

Saw this photo on Craig's List of a Jet 1041I Lathe for $50.00, needs work...

Well, even if you have to replace the bearings, it's a good find. With a little elbow grease it'll look almost new.

If the motor works and the bearings spin, I would think the rest could be cleaned up and given a little TLC and you'd have a heck of a deal for $50.

Bearings are cheap. If the motor works, and you are in the market for another lathe, I'd jump on it!

Sad to see it in such a state. I would buy it if local. I can have two lathes set up for different types of turning then. Put a scotch bright pad on an old palm sander with WD-40 and it will clean the rust right up.
