Mornin'(I hate time changes:mad:) I want to upgrade the tailstock locking washer on my older (blue) 1014 Jet,the locking bolt is too short to add Johnnycncs locking plate that takes a nut to hold it on.Does anyone know if the newer longer locking bolt on later machines will interchange?

Next question, where can I find a 60 degree drill bit to drill some old kit bushings so they can be used between centers. Thanks for any help. John

Thanks,I do keep Johnnycnc order forms pretty active.I thought I saw somewhere that the centering drills were 60 degree, but can't be sure.I've got several old bushings that would be good to use for oddball stuff with the right taper in the ends.John

John,
I have the same lathe and you are right, the bolt is too short. But I didn't know that until I ordered one of JohnnyCNC's washer. What Johnny suggested to me (and it worked) was to use a step drill bit to drill the bottom side of the hole out of the washer so you original nut can be countersunk into the washer. That worked but I bet if you ask Johnny before ordering that he would make the modification for you and it would look much better than my sloppy job. But it does work!

Thanks Mike,I had already ordered Johnnys washer before I found the problem.I thought that the newer Jet bolt might interchange with the one we have,if not I'll do the counterbore route,I was afraid that if I counter sink the square plate it might be too thin, but sounds like it works OK for you. Thanks again.
