Jet 1221 Loose Quill Locking Handle

I am going to call into Jet once they open, but has anyone dealt with this (loose quill locking handle)?

what do you mean by loose? Stripped? Keeps loosening?

keeps loosening. thx for the question.

the jet technician recommended a light threading product. I order a new handle, although it may be the female threads.

If it's the female you can install a heli-coil

I had what sounds like a similar issue with a turncrafter lathe a couple of years ago. I called PSI and they said it was likely the female threads that had gone back, apparently a not uncommon thing because the threads are castiron. They had tailstock as a replacement part (just the castiron part) and that totally fixed the problem.
