hey everyone,
i have a jet 1220 lathe and am getting tired of changing belts every time i go from turning to sanding. is there a conversion to make it variable speed? if so, does anyone here have it? opinions, comments?

While there may soon be a kit to do so from Jet on the heels of the upcomming 1220VS that is due out in April. For now you have to jury rig one yourself.
I have been discussing such a project for my 1220 with an expert, SuperDave, in another thread.
