The threads on the cam lock bolt on the tailstock of my 1220 failed a couple weeks ago and upon further study, I noticed that the bolt was not long enough to fully thread into the Nylok nut.
Rather than buy a potentially design flawed replacement, Jerry Sambrook and I made a replacement out of 303 stainless.
The new one is on the left with a threaded section about 1/4" longer to ensure that a bit of the bolt extends past the nut.
Now all I need to do is make a square replacement for the round locking plate to increase the clamping force for the tailstock.
