Jackson's Kit-less Pen Jounery

So I decided to jump into the deep end and try my hand at kitt-less men making. I plan on just updating this thread with my journey of learning and producing kit-less pens.

Here is a pic of my very first attempt at a kit-less pen. This one is machined out of Brass and uses an EL Grande nib and section.

Building on my first pen's profile here is my first non fountain pen. Also my first time trying Knurling.

Again made out of Brass

Wasn't a big fan of this profile. But progress is being made.

First experience with Aluminum... Wow it's so easy to turn.

2nd Aluminum Pen. With this pen I wanted to design it so it would receive the cap when in use.

Finally developed this profile shape to what I call the Biltmore. I think I will start calling all my pen styles after great historic estate names.

Going back to brass on this one. I'm starting to experiment more with finishes as well. This has a mirror like polished finish with a lacquer seal.

Using my Biltmore style profile again but this time I tried Copper for the first time. I really love the final look but it was much harder to machine than both Brass and Aluminum for sure.

Still using my Biltmore profile and doing more experiments with finishes. This Copper fountain has a forced patina finish with a CA clear coat.

This Biltmore Style fountain is machined out of aluminum but with an Copper Sulfate and Sodium Carbonate etched finish. Love this finish for sure!

Some really great pens Jackson. One or two of those would have made nice entries in the kitless contest that we just wrapped up.
I like the copper one that is patinaed.

Thanks every one for the encouraging words. I've only been pen making for a few months now and am really enjoying it. It is amazing the stuff you can do and also originality you can put into a little stick that makes marks on paper.

My nephew Kevin is graduating from Basic Training at Paris Island. I just finished him this kitless fountain pen machined out of aluminum with a chemically etched finish and lettering.

Don't really like how this pen turned out at all. It will probably be going into the melting pile.
