So here is my "shop."

My entire shop area measures 7' x 10'. It can get quite cramped when I'm working on a project involving multiples pieces. I hope within the next year to be able to expand my little shop so I can get a band saw and a table saw...

Maybe if i sell more pens...

You've got room for at least a band saw, drill press, and disk sander.

:) Looks good... If you have a yard sale and sell all the stuff the family is just 'storing' in your work area.......

(just kidding!)

Nice looking small shop. Mine, I have to walk sideways to get to things too. I have my lathe on a table at the end of the shop and on the bench is my grinder, drill press and spindle sander and I want to get another bench to put in there after we remodel the place and I can make it larger with better lighting. I have several lamps plugged in so that helps but I need some good light. you have a nice chair to sit in when you get tired and need a break. Looks like you'll do fine until you get it the way you want it to be.. Fay

I don't see anything depressing about it, it has more room than mine!

A lot of great work comes out of 'small shops' to the point where I'd almost say that a small shop seems to have more creative potential. Some of the large clean shops I've seen over the years seem under used. That likely is just my perception, however...

My "shop" consists of my apartment's back balcony, which is 4' x 8'. I'm not allowed to have anything on the balcony except patio furniture and an electric grill, so I hide the lathe under a bbq cover. The drill press, grinder, belt/disc sander, shop vac, and lathe tools live in the storage closet, and I have to pull everything out if I want to use one of the other pieces of equipment. I feel your pain.
