This is what I tried. Drilled holes and filled with poly clay. Works for wood, may not work on a resin blank. This was just a trial, wish I would have picked an unspalted blank,

Just thoughts.

Get a stabilized redwood blank (or a red dyed maple) from AS and an Osage orange blank.
Use a plug cutter on the Osage and fill same size holes drilled in the redwood blank with the round pieces from the Osage.

Hmmmm. I threw a .30-06 bullet away today that had a cavity in it. I threw it away because I had cracked the resin inlay. It needs to be pulled out of the trash and filled with clay. What a novel idea. Thank you.
Glad you didn't charge for it.
