I made my first batch of trail mix this past weekend, so I thought I would remind everyone that I posted http://www.penturners.org/forum/f18/edgars-trail-mix-recipe-128532/ last year. Be sure to scroll down a few posts and check out Jeff's variation on the recipe.

The recipe invites experimentation. I tried some of the new Fruit & Oats Chex Clusters cereal in my first batch this year, but I'm not certain if I really like it or not. Time for another taste test .....

Enjoy

That looks really good. I'll have to see if I'm allowed to have it and make some. I think I would cut it in half though, that seems like it would feed a whole neighborhood.

You'll regret it! Trust me go with the big recipe. You'll be glad you did. It's that good! If you plan on sharing you might want to even double it!

Absolutely right, Derek!

I use 9 boxes of cereal per recipe to make 4 roasting pans full at a time. I will probably make 3 full recipes this year - two for gifts and one just for us.

I'm thinking of an Edgar "Trail Mix" event at the Ohio Meeting on Dec 12... We have 10 folks so far...

Mark, I'd be honored to send a container of trail mix for my fine Ohio friends to sample.

Hi Edgar. I'll PM my address.

How about a "small" container! I truly am thinking of getting all the ingredients and we can make our own to take home! We will have about 5-6 couples and assorted singles; enough to make a bunch!

No demo for this meeting, so play in the kitchen, greet new friends, etc... We have some spouses, so this may be a good activity. I will take pictures and let everyone know how it went!

The shop will be ava for anyone to turn some "Sassafras"... (yea, last year's joke...:wink:). I'm closing my business permanently the day before :highfive: , so an early retirement party will be fun with my woodturning friends.

Mark

Congratulations on your retirement, Mark. I can't wait to see what endeavors you get into during retirement - I know you won't be sitting around much.
