Well there have been more than a few times while in WC I have said to myself "Self, you need to pick up an extra belt for your lathe". Well being a stubborn arse I never listened. Well today during lunch I slipped out and was working on something then my lathe started thumping around under the hood. I pulled over and opened her up and sure enough the belt separated. Now WC is not far but its not close and the odds of me getting out w/ just a belt are slim to none........Being a Monday I wont be able to make it out for a few days so I guess my rounding days are on hold until them. I wonder if I order one online if it would be here quicker than I can get out there.

Moral. Don't be like me. Have an extra belt on hand like many of our smarter members here.

I ordered two replacements from Belts for Anything last year and they were sent to me in SLC, Utah in two days. And very inexpensive. I am just stating my experience for reference, I have no interest in the company.
 
What you really need is an emergency lathe! Pick one of those up while you're at Woodcraft too.

Justkiddin..... I know what its like to visit my local Woodcraft. $$$$$

They now like a lot of other companies, use the transshipping program.

It is hauled by UPS, Fed ex, private contractor to the nearest post office sort center to your location and then feed into the mail system. It can take up to 10 days shipping. Or so I was told by WC cust. service. That it went from overnight regular shipping to 8 days was of no consequence to WC. Other than I no longer order anything from them on line or by phone.!
